The development, which is being constructed by Syntec Projects Ltd, a specialist ICF contractor, is to be one of the first affordable rental developments to utilise ICF in the UK. The development, which is being supported by the Borough of Hounslow, is comprised of the following:
Phase 1: A terrace of four houses: 3 x 2 storey, 1 x 3 storey
Phase 2: Apartment block: 4 storey over basement, 20 units
Syntect Projects Ltd. has based their decision to use Thermohouse on two factors: (1) speed of construction, and (2) air-tightness. Ultimately, it was vital that the development be constructed efficiently and provide high performing dwellings for its occupiers.
Phase 1 – Terraced Houses
Excavation, piling and ring beam poured and cured
ICF deadwork erected, rebar in place, ready for concrete pour
DPC laid, concrete sub-floor poured, rising walls started.
All external and internal walls erected and poured.
Gable walls cut and poured.
Ridge beams and wall plates installed, ready for roof panels.
Brick slips applied to the facade of the terrace.
Phase 2 – Apartment Block
ICF walls built on top of cast-in-situ concrete basement.
Low energy floor panels fitted in position, rebar and mesh installed and screed poured on top.
First floor walls built on top of cured floor.
